In my view, any Image is an author's take on how he/she wishes to present their photo. The fact it has been edited or created has no bearing on its ability to be enjoyed by the viewer. That is of course unless you are a so called Purist in which case you have a different set of values but it dosnt make you right. I think this is a superb image.
