A very well worked portrait, I wonder how it would look in monochrome or a tint ?

I think Nathan's suggestion of a tinted version is good. I think a faded colour effect would work too.
When you have a good shot like this, then's the time to think of a few variations in treatment.

I'm sure the comments above have their value - but what I really like about this shot it you LOOK!

In spite of the fact that many might see it as bland it is in fact very honest in my opinion - and in terms of portrait photography no matter how wound-up, posed, exaggerated, in your face - no matter - if it ain't honest - it doesn't have a lot of value.

When I do photo shoots I often say to the sitter I want the 'gorilla look' -- need less to say

I'm reposting this as I didn't finish the original .... Sad

When I do photo shoots I often say to the sitter I want the 'gorilla look' -- needless to say I get odd looks - but think on't - If you've ever been to a zoo and looked at a gorilla looking at you - he/she has the most beautiful, formidable ... HONEST look --- no judgement - no opinion - just looking with all her/his soul behind the look - that in my opinion is the trick !! (young kids have it as well Smile )

I like it Smile

A wonderful portrait. It has a timeless, classic look about it. The addition of that camera is a nice creative touch as well.
