Hi Robert. Thanks for the comments and the mod. The image is much better after the mod. What did you do?. I have tried to replicate it but sadly failed. I took quite a few photos at the fayre and will be putting them on the site over the next few days

Only minor changes of brightening up the face. Duplicated layer and used the brightness layer until the face was correct and then a layer mask as not to effect the rest of the image. I then used the five step sharpening. This allowed me to used Nik dfine to remove the noise.
