"End of an Era"

By ga1963
This shot was taken whilst on a woodland ramble , I came across an area where they are removing old diseased trees, and replacing them with young. It's nice to see the regeneration of woodlands, but I'm always left feeling a little bit sad, seeing the old tree's left there.

Well captured,superb tones and detail.
Wonder what stories they could tell these old trees.

Best wishes.

Beautiful texture in this Graham and the cross cuts make interesting vewing as well. Yes it is very sad when an old giant of nature succumbes to disease, but that is the way of nature. The old make way for the new.
Lovely image anyway.
Regards.
Ken
