Ponte Vechio

By gajewski
The Ponte Vechio in Florence, Italy. To get this vantage point I shot through a window of a nearby museum. I got rid of some of the glass relfections with Photoshop. -= Walter

thanks for stopping by... had a quick check at your website (only the Picasa part though, its past midnight here). Nice work... I can learn a thing or two. Tried out the focal b&w again today to give a photo a bit of a surreal look. Tomorrow I'll post it (and let the pros kill me off with their comments/(or worse) complete silence lol)

Hello Walter, when we visited Florence we enjoyed the comfort of a hotel very close to your camera position here...lovely calm waters reflecting the grandeur of the bridge and good distant clarity.

Lovely shot, it makes me homesick. But is Florence ever that sunny?

I actually like this shot and considered taking one from a similar viewpoint, which must be one of the Uffizi top galleries. Would've been no good with a 15mm prime. It was so stifling up there at 10am that I shot through and left to get closer to the water. Italian cities are great with a telephoto which folds all those interesting shapes & colours in close. Unfortunatley I didn't take one.
