Blue Funk: City Graphics

By gajj
Building, reflecting a reflection, Salt Lake City, Utah USA.
I've been in a blue funk for awhile, so thought this apt. Perhaps uploading will jog me out of it, appreciate the ongoing support, will catch up bit by bit. As always, comments, critiques helpful.

Nice composition, like the way the lines are running to make this image.

This is lovely - the rich colours of blues really stand out from the other photos, and remaining in just one palette is very brave, and in this instance works very well. I like the way all the lines cross with the lines in the reflections giving a real sense of intracacy right in the centre. It is a great way of pulling someone into the photograph - it's a very nice affect, and very well captured. I was just wondering - with modern buildings they are so symmetrical, I feel that this doesn't show that off quite as well as it could. If the reflections were a dark blue strip up the very centre of the photograph, I feel that it might be slightly more dramatic. However, a very nice composition as it is!! Well done!!

I agree it is a beauty, but just wondered, if you had made it symmetrical, almost square=even stronger? Still, click (*:*)take care

I think the lack of symmetry makes this unusual and in your style. Beautiful cobalt colors.

Thank you all - I do have to agree I'm not much into symmetry or cropping. I did take another more centered version but didn't care for it much, thinking it lacked impact. Thanks again,

Very nice indeed, fantastic colours. I dont agree with the symmetry comments. I like the asymmetrical composiition, I think that it adds more tension to the shot.

Hello Jan, incredible effects in this shot...I have had to sit and admire the detail and try and work out the angles etc...you have done well the colours accentuating the lined composition. Great artistic element to your scene.

Lovely graphic image Jan. Show me someone who has never had a funk - blue or otherwise and I'll show you a liar! Hang on in their girl. Off to look at what I've missed.
