Evening Storm

Bear River Bird Refuge, Utah USA. A fast-moving winter storm caught us unawares as we were catching the last light on a cold February evening. The Bird Refuge is located in northern Utah, a stop for thousands of migratory birds.

The dark cloud covering the upper portion of the image works beautifully with the soft patterns of the river. A wonderfully balanced and toned landscape.

I was out last evening looking at some spectacular images taken by Ansel Adams. This image reminds me of his style. Its a superb image. Composition is spot on.
