Uintah, Cell Block 3

By gajj
Abstract: For a year I worked as a graduate student in maximum security/death row as a social worker. every so often the experience flashes across my mind, colouring whatever I happen to be doing at the time.
Driving down Highway 93, a desert road to anywhere/nowhere, I thought of Cell Block 3, Death Row. Not many can probably relate, but what the hell.

Image: Turning off Highway 93, passing a derelect motel, shot out windows, graffiti going 80 miles an hour. Panned the camera, shot the image. Collapsed colours in Shadows, upped contrast. Again, not for the faint hearted, but then - neither was a year of time in Cell Block 3...

Comments, suggestions, definite groans, kudos, all appreciated.

A bit weird. love the colours and fast movement. the focused words made me think it was about moving on...but your description makes the point that some can't.
Poignant and interesting shot, Jan.

A very good abstract with lots of dramatic visual impact. Excellent indeed. The image and your story together make me think of not staying, impermenence.
