Crane Reflected

By GarrathE
This is another shot from one of many shoots at Calpé's biggest feature, Las Salinas. The reflections are always good. But what struck me about this shot was the tower crane stood upright in splendid isolation, a long way from the building and apparently unsupported. Possible one reason why this is allowed in Spain is the fact that there is no driver cab at the top. Nor the weight of winding gear. Its all in the base, adding stability, and the crane driver has a radio-model control style unit slung around his next so that he can be close to the action and control the crane with great accuracy. Simples! Now why don't we do that in the UK? :-S

Is ut a man thing to go on holiday on the Costa Blanca and be preoccupied with the workings of tower cranes? Nice image of this particular Big Boy's Toy and it's reflection though.
