A gentle walk

By gary_d
A change from the wildlife.

This gentleman is well into his eighties, he used to be our local magistrate and is very well respected in our village.

Thanks for looking.

Regards. - gary

Great composition. The elderly gentleman and his dog transform a relatively ordinary scene into something with real atmosphere. The colours and tones are also a 'Gentle' palate. GrinGrin

I see we have both posted photos of elderly gentlemen today, Gary.
Actually I'm slowly heading that way myself (well, I'm aiming for the elderly part of the equation WinkWinkWink
The gentle perspective (I'm assuming that's the right term - I mean, the perspective doesn't narrow rapidly towards the background) implies a leisurely pace, contentment, companionship; the colour is very good and the placement just about perfect. A very enjoyable image.

A well-taken and very pleasant walk along that receding path, the man and his dog in perfect position in the frame makes a fine composition.

Lovely tones and composition, Gary. A gentleman in the Autumn of his years.

Your composition works perfectly. The figures of elderly gent and his dog walking along that lane together are just right set in the Autumn scene.

I think they've grown old together, and I also suspect that even a slight incline is hard going for both of them. A very human image.

Do you know, this looks even better in BW. I think it's the sort of shot that naturally suits BW. Have you tried it?

Excellent composition, and the man/dog perfectly positioned. Very nice - but better in BW?

This image made me feel real sadness for the man's poor mobility.
He looks as if it's slow going and as you say he was a man of stature in his lifetime.
(I thought there was a word 'stupped' but not finding it in dictionary).
So you've evoked lots of different feelings with this image Gary.

This is so lovely Gary and a very poignant image. We'll all be here some day (god willing - although I don't have a dog!! Smile) - and wouldn't it be lovely if there was someone there to capture our daily walk?! Smile Love it!

A beautifully composed shot, Gary, and the although the walker is getting on in years, he is rill able to enjoy a stroll with his dog in delightful surroundings.
An excellent landscape/candid image.
