....this is my daughter Emma who i managed to get a picture of last night...not easy....

I actually bounced my flash off a small mirror so the light was concentrated on her face. as previously I'm way outside my comfort zone here so any crit/advice is more than welcome.

Love the light in this one nicely taken and works so well as a mono Smile

Always good to move beyond the comfort zone Gary, and you did well wit the lighting. Worth a crop off the right into a portrait shaoe nd the counter top at the bottom left catches the eye, cloning or knocking back will dramatically help this very good image.

I love the lighting here Garry, great idea to bounce the flash off the mirror,I like this a lot, Bill.

The lighting gives some nice tones and details in the face where it is focused. However for me there is a large area of black to the rhs, which does not help and then the the hand to the left which again draws the eye. For me either enlarge the image so the face which is the subject becomes more of the focus or crop in around it to acheive the same effect.
