Jason Plato

By Gary_Williams
Jason Plato

Chucking the BTCC Seat Leon into Druids hard, causing the car to **** its leg.

This was shot at a much lower shutter speed to my previous 2 uploads ,and panned to give a sense of speed.

For those who dont know the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) is Britains premier saloon car championship, but unlike NASCAR these are based on the road going cars chassis (although stiffened, and fitted with a roll-cage). The engine is based on a 2 litre production engine and is limited to 8,500 rpm.

This shot was taken from the inside of Druids, and right at the very top of the curve

Exposure 1/60s @ F22

The Photoshop CS2 stuff;

Cropped slightly
Resize & border
Switch to Lab mode and another USM of 100,1.4.1
Finally, save to web

Once again, I value your critique, so feel free.

Cheers, and have a good Easter.

Great capture Gary, I like how the front wheel is in motion but the back isn't as he spins round the bend.

Excellent shot with such clarity at 1/60s.

Absolutely spot on in all respects Gary. The icing on the cake is the actual moment - one wheel stationary and the other 'flat out'!

Is he braking hard so that back wheel is not spinning? Yes, there is a good sense of speed in this one, and very sharp for 1/60th as well.

Great sense of movement, even with the back wheel being locked up, which for me adds to the overall effect. Top class motorsport shot!

Great to see a perfect pacture of a SEAT racing. It bothered me a bit seeing the front wheel turning while the back wheel was static so I took the liberty of making a small modification.

A shot of Mr Plato's car without body damage...must have been on the first lap! Wink

A fine action shot Gary.

If only the weather was like this last weekend when I was at the same place!
