This shot is probably my from last from my recent weekend at Brand Hatch

Taken at the top of Druids, this guy had just won his race and was on the cool down lap. The aim of this shot was a reasonable fast pan, at a slowish shutter speed to great the blurred background, and keep some movement in the wheels.

As always extract as much from the RAW images as possible and then into Photoshop CS2:

A slight crop, a bit of selective adjustment of the levels by using chanel masks and here you have the results.

Exposure: 1/60s @ f/16

The thumb makes it look like just some regular shot, but the quality really shows on the bigger version!

Cheers everyone; Patrick, yeah I guess the thumbnail looks a bit ordinary, plus the subject isn't a winner for all, but hey we got a few takers.

Ian, switched off the IS on the lens and kept going. Although my success rate was limited, and to be honest there were a couple of better panning shots, but I liked this one because of the drivers arm.

Jill, well anyone, shoot in Raw, you may not be able to make the most of the shot now, but you probably regret it later.

Thanks again everyone - something different next I think - but I've a couple of mod's of other peoples work in the pipeline first...

Pete,

If you're off to Brands, have fun, great circuit. This shot, and the one before where shot inside Druids. I notice you're using a 350D - best lens would be a 70-200mm, I'd left my one at home! My 100-400 was a bit big, but it did bag 'The office'.

Don't forget lots of memory, and plenty of batteries; you won't be disappointed. Look forward to seeing the results.

Gary,
I'm so looking forward to it. I have a 55-200mm that should do the job.

Thanks

Mark, You should have the PSD by now (unfortunately it was 4mb zipped), if you don't I'll put it up on a bit of web-space and you can pull it from there.
