Well sort of Smile

Something growing in my pond, water droplets added by nature, honest.

Shot taken this morning, camera mounted on a tripod, remote shutter release and macro flash used.

Exposure Manual: 0.3s @ F8.0

Finally image worked in Photoshop to add a little punch.

As always comments +/- welcome; I'm not going to get upset, promise.

This looks like frost.IMHO the big drop in the middle detracts from the otherwise delicate nature of the picture. Is it a self portrait in the reflection?

Nice capture Gary, the large droplet does take the focus away from the rest of which is so you know what it is?? Lovely shot anyway

Hello Gary, it is amazing that many plant actually absorb fresh water through their folliage...the combination of droplets and greenery feature well. Good exposure.

Well done, lovely view. If I might make one suggestion, if you would increase the highlights by say 30 - 50% you could probably get more definition in the droplets. Love the shot, Spot on! Click!!!

Hi, and thanks for all the comments.

Janet, I went for the big gem look in the centre, and no, not a self portrait. I had to heal/clone the centre because the ring-flash left a tell-tale reflection. If you look closely in the small droplets you can still see them.

Mark, Cheers Is it time for Christmas decorations already? Im sure it wont be long before Woolworths have them on the shelves Smile

Cheers Alan, appreciated.

Mike, I have no idea but it grows at a magnificent rate! Looks good in the morning though.

Doug, thanks very much.

Greg, thanks for the advice, Ill give it a try. Id tried a few idea but nothing really lifted the droplets without blowing away any detail. B.T.W. your advice, in fact any advice, is always welcome. Thanks again.

David, cheers I tried to drawn the attention to the main droplet, but from the general comments indicate that might have a bit of a mistake! Oh well. Is the grizzled look for a reprise of Cotton?

Lynne, thank you.

Kathy, The snowflake is interesting If I can get out when the first frost arrives I might have an interesting shot.

Maddie, Thanks appreciated.
