Gull Landing

By GaryR
I've been practicing with birds in flight again. Whitby is a good place as there are plenty of gulls to practice on, but unfortunately it was packed with people and very hard to get a good vantage point. The result being that I like the detail on the bird landing, but not happy about the background.

Thanks for looking.

A super in-flight shot, this really deserves more votes and comments.

Great in-flight shot, have to agree! Especially the black background and the white dove in front of it Smile Only thing i would erase (digitally manipulate) is the tail of the bird on the left Smile

Super inflight with wonderful detail and not always easy to get them where you want them in the frame but very well done.

The is nice and sharp with just a touch of movement showing on the tip of the roght wing which I think is just right. What shutter speed did you use?
I think that 'nellabella' is right about the distracting tail of the gull on the left. I would romove it. However the backgound does show the gull in it's right context.
Nice shot.
