Lovely shot, not quite sure if the nut is worth keeping in as the focus on the nut is a bit soft, and the branch in the top lefthand corner tends to take your eye away from the main subject.
What ever you decide to do it will still be a beautiful photograph of a Gray Squirrel.

I agree that the top left branch and nut are not necessary, and a crop to the left would benefit the image.
I like your pov, the squirrels pose as s/he eats and the bokeh.

This is a superb shot. Its sharp detailed and exposed beautifully. The suggestion already made is a good one, the branch. The nut should stay IMO.
I would also suggest adding a little more space on the left, tp move the squirrel back from the centre, and in the mod Ive also used a slightly warmer white balance. The contrast is slightly increased making the image look a very small amount brighter.
Loaded 2 mods, second one flipped, as some shots look better reading left to right. You may like it.

Willie's second modification is the one for me, Garry.
Thanks all for your comments and mods. Wasn't sure about needing more space to the left but yes, that works. A bit brighter and warmer works too. I think generally in the past my images have been under exposed so I will now try and rectify that. All good lessons learned, hopefully.

Technically excellent. Obviously a very stable tripod at 750mm and 1/50. Plus an obedient Squirrel. For me, the nut should go as it's a peanut, so not natural. A beechnut could stay. I would also reverse the image. Europeans and much of the world read left to right, thus the eye travelling in that direction is more normal.
