a forgotten generation

By gbentley
this from the same series as previous 2 posts. there was a violent riot in the shanty over the weekend, after 2 boys were gunned down by a drunken policeman so the atmosphere is uneasy.

this is david. found him sitting under a bush on the side of the road, where he now spends his days. his wife passed away since my last visit and he seems lost without her. his grief is evident in his face as he talks about her. he has a single surviving daughter whom he now lives with. she doesnt treat him well. rather than face her, he sits quietly under this bush and smokes.

Wow, realy great emotive shot. You can almost feel the waves of emotion he's keeping back. Beautiful moment...

I love this shot and knowing some background makes it even more poignant.

the grieve stricken face very much contradicts with the very colorfull photo. Very strong photo. perhaps an (too) obvious question... how about b&w ?

His pain is written all over his face - you really seem to have captured raw emotion here.

Amazing! You have captured pure human emotion most tenderly and beautifully. And taken a technically great shot. Very well done.

Brilliant image - so much emotion captured in the subject's expression - thanks for sharing this with us.
