A good catch

By geoffrey baker
Another flight shot from Skomer island.

This puffin had been out at sea catching sand eels for it's family and was trying to find a safe time to land between the seagulls that were waiting to steal his catch, some of the attacks can be very brutal, not nice to see.

Thanks to everyone who commented and voted on yesterday's upload and to Pete for the EC award Smile

A tremendous inflight capture Geoff, good to see one with a beak full of sandeels. I was sad to hear that many puffins in the North coast of Scotland had died as a result of the awful prolonged winter we are experiencingSad

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Edmund, yes, I was sad to hear that too, they're struggling enough as it is without this bad weather.
