Thanks Robert, Andy, Bill, and Alex. It is a little abstract with Dina curled up on a lounge and in a black dress on a black bg. It's a little better viewed large but obviously shooting black clothing with black bg is against the rules but I went ahead and posted this image anyway knowing this.

Good to see you two back George.
I like the black background, and with the careful positioning of lights nothing has been lost. I very much like the expression on Dina's face and the hand is perfectly placed for the reflective mood it portrays. I do think her legs could have been positioned differently or not included in the frame at all as in the mod, but then the elbow is missing...it's a hard one to call.
Nice words and title George, echoing the reflective feel to this image.

Well if shooting black against a black BG is wrong (as is sometimes said) then you've just proved - once again - that you can do what you damn well like as long as it works. Nice one George/Dina.

Hi Fran, Thanks so much for the kind words. We just bought a S-curved lounge chair for the studio (yes, red again!) but I removed the exposed portion from this shot. We were shooting black on red on black BG with some interesting effects. However, this shot and expression at the angle was just one in the series and I didn't catch the impact until processing. The positioning of the knee's would have worked better if the torso and hips were showing better. I'd still like to try this with a lighter dress. Thanks so much for your comments, as always, we appreciate them.

Anyway, I was trying to make the black dress work but needed an optical snoot I believe to make the dress detail stand out. Always trying the hard way, easier to use a different dress! Rules are meant to be broken but a tighter crop would have helped with the knee issue but does not distract from a fine relaxing pose.

Thanks Victor, I agree the knees look funny here. Some focal plane distortion also but the shadow tends to take some of that away. Dina is very flexible though and she could have easily made this a true abstract image right out of the camera!
