Heading East on I-10

By GeorgeP
Heading around down-town Houston on I-10 to pick up another rescued Bull Terrier and bring him into the Texas Gulf Coast Bull Terrier Rescue Program. This poor guy looked like he had been used as a "bait dog" for dog-fights. He was dirty, and covered in scars and wounds. [Hell is too good for some people! ] Kudos to the folks who discovered him abandoned and contacted Rescue. His new life began yesterday.

(A quick point and press shot taken through the windshield.)

Question - do Children's hospitals feel a need to advertise in other parts of the world?

Nice shot and backstory, George.
Two rescue stories today, a swan and a bull terrier.
As to your question, I'd say no, bit I saw a "similar" advert in Atlanta airport, advertising Liver transplants! I think they do it while you wait.Wink

Great Shot George,
And pleased your Bull dog has been rescued as a small side story my Auntie Lill used to always have English bull terriers and she always called them Bulla.
One day she went shopping and had a very bad fall she had taken Bulla with her and he stood guard and would not let any one pick her up so they had to fetch my Uncle Harry and eventually Bulla allowed her to be rescued .
The morel Bull terriers are the most loving loyal steadfast dogs you could wish to have and I sincerely hope
that your rescue finds a wonderful new home.

Great shot George and even better rescue, why does this happen. Animals all over the world abused, used killed, and what about the children too !! Have we become abusers of this planet !! All gratitude to you George, doing it !!!!!!!

Childrens hospitals do not advertise here, - no hospital does. Health care is not a business here.

Nice grab shot George. My recent road trip from Memphis to Huntsville only seemed to find adverts for lawyers!
As regards your hospital advert I would presume with private medicine you have a choice of where to send your child if they are sick, so if hospitals are run for profit then I would presume it pays to advertise. With the NHS you go to your nearest hospital' though most now specialise and there are children's hospitals. In England since they ranked schools by 'league tables' and schools depended on number of pupils for state funding it's noticeable that they too have become competitive, advertise and have open days.

Our childrens hospitals do not advertise as such as Willie stated . They do put on fundraising events though quite regularly...as our silly goverment underfunds them while frittering away millions on votebuying or because they are sending taxpayers money off to foreign shores. Houston has a lovely skyline ... sure hope the hurricanes dont come back there this year !
Cheers Walt
