Lavandula stoechas

Lavandula stoechas is an aromatic dwarf shrub to 60cm - max 1m tall, with narrow, grey-green leaves and short-stalked, dense, ovoid heads of tiny blackish-purple flowers surmounted by a tuft of purple bracts. It belongs to the family of Lamiaceae and it is native to all Mediterranean shores and Aegean islands.
This beautiful plant is used to perfumery and pharmaceutical industry.

This is my favourite scent George and I always spray the household linen with it to spread peace and tranquillity around the home. Two very beautiful images perfectly composed with great DOF and colour.

Two most beautiful images depicting the wonderfully beautiful and fragrant Lavender George. Image two working very well in the portrait format. Good use of selective focusing your chosen aperture of f/7.1 ensuring a pin sharp bloom with enough depth of field to blur out the background just enough to still be able to recognise the fellow blooms colour and outline. Just one point for reference George, that I may be inclined to clone out the relatively sharp pieces of foliage down the left hand side as they do tend to distract the eye somewhat.
