A fish out of water, bum, bum!

By WhiteRose1
A final look and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and another free plug for them from me.

The light wasn't the best so I pushed and pulled the sliders on processing v1 for a bit of impact.

v1 is something (looks like a flat fish to me Smile) by Yinka Shonibare. His works occupied the whole of one gallery but each with an attendant and a sign saying No Photography!! Fortunately this one was outside. f9, 1/1600sec, Iso 400, @24mm. (Shutter speed seems a bit excessive .... no excuses)

v2 and v3 are a couple of bum shots ( by Henry Moore and Sophie Ryder respectively)

Your processing has certainly resulted in a very vibrant image at V 1, Dave: not sure what it reminds me of but whatever it is it has taken a nose dive into the groundWinkWink
Henry Moore's work is always so recognisable and like Ken I find the inclusion of the two figures just completes the composition.
Some years back we had about 6 of his large pieces on display all summer in the field next to the Burrell Collection.
As for V 3 I must come back and see what sort of remarks are made by some of our wittier contributors.
This Yorkshire Sculpture Park must be a delight to visit with so many different photo opportunities as you have shown.

Three excellent shots. I love the contrast between the brightly coloured sculpture and the brooding sky in V1 and the POV's in V's 2 & 3, but for me the star shot is V2. Reasons, 1) Henry Moore is my absolute favourite sculptor 2) The context and landscape are shown beautifully and 3) the couple add scale and the human touch.

I really must make the effort to drive the few miles to this wonderful resource.

Three most interesting and certainly well composed and exposed photographs Dave. Not quite sure about a fish out of water, but still it is a beautiful example of modern sculpture which works extremely well in its given environment.

It's all been said. I like V2, partly for the sculpture, partly because of the three I think it's the most complete and successful as an image.

Well we got there today, Dave. Steaming hot but heavy with uninteresting light and 10000s of school groups (all very well behaved but everywhere you looked). A few details to follow, sometime.
You have a good set here with more sky detail than we saw all day!
