Wild Africa: Panthera pardus

By Gezina
Thank you so much for c'c on the White Rhino upload.
The 5th and last of the Big 5 series - and oh what a treat this was. This beautiful animal was just laying in the grass when we first spotted her - see V2 (Full Frame). As with any wildlife we took our record shots with the 70-200mm just for in case she decided to slope off, but to our utter surprise and delight she stayed, moved about and eventually after about 30mins decided to casually walk off into a distance. She was calling throughout - this low rumbling noise - not full growl but a soft clearly audible sound - we thought it might be a female calling a grown up cub or advertising her presence to a male, unfortunately she has got a poor left eye but boy was this a treat that got us grinning from ear to ear - hope you enjoy - Ina PS sorry I'm not about much just so busy at work and absolutely knackered in the evenings - will try and catch up over the weekend again

You have captured these shots of this magnificent big cat to perfection, Ina: for me V 2 is more captivating with that glance towards you over its shoulder.

A stunning pair of captures Ina - terrific tones, detail and wonderful dof, isolating this lovely animal perfectly. These shots have painting-like qualities for me. Love them both, but marginally V2 for me as the pose is superb.

Both shots so well captured Ina, and can imagine the 'joy' you must have had being there with her and taking (hopefully) endless photos of her in the wild. The colours are beautifully captured and in V1 just a hint of a 'wink' at you, now that's an honour for starters V2 what can I say, Perfect as alway's love this series and hope for loads more
