Culross Town Hall

By GHGraham
This fine 17th century town hall & jail is about a 75 yrd walk from my house which happens to be the oldest house in Culross, built around 1570. The church at the top of my road will be 800 yrs old next year so kind of spoiled for medieval subject matter.

Here, the late evening light spills off the Firth of Forth illuminating the buildings & cobbled streets in an ethereal glow.

I feel transported back to the 17th. Cent. as I look at this fine atmospheric shot as there are so few appurtenances of the 21st. Cent. in evidence......other than perhaps concrete posts (?) and a traffic cone lurking in the shadows.

A lot of people would have whacked up the red saturation in post processing - but you haven't, giving much better, more subtle colours. Well done.

Lovely use of side lighting.
