Shot a few weeks back in the Brecon Beacons. This is my version of the much overused and clichéd waterfall shot! I know some hate this technique and others love it! Personally I find it is a great technique for creating a sense of calm and tranquillity in an image and if used well can look fantastic.

The weather was not exactly great on the day I took this but the overcast conditions gave a soft diffused light ideal for this type of shot. I exposed to just keep the highlights in the flowing water from burning out and processed to give a nice punchy and colourful image, especially in the green foliage. Very little post processing work done on this, a little bit of local contrast adjustment to make some of the foliage stand out a touch more but that’s it.

Exposure 1.6 sec @ F11 and 35mm Focal length

Really like the light in this , Large is well worth a look , it really brings out the detail in that path leading up into the woods ( or down to the waterfall) great tones /saturation

Very well exposed water, my favourite subject.
Did you get any other images here? I am wondering about landscape format, composing to hide the trees at the top but to include some detail of where the water is flowing to, does that make sense?
Nice work.

Lovely shot, I would be proud to have taken it. the technique may overused but that's because it works and to do it well takes talent. You have captured the scene well.
Excellent - Brian
