Hemesferic Afternoon

By ghibby
Another view of the beautiful Hemesferic building in Valencia.

I shot this in strong afternoon sun, this really brings out the graphic nature of the building and again I felt this image suited black and white better than colour.
I processed the RAW file n colour and did the BW conversion using a combination of Channel Mixer and Black and White adjustment layers in Photoshop CS3. I went for string contrast and dark blue skies in my conversion which simulates the effect of using a strong Red filter (corrected, thanks krimage!) with BW film.

Finally I added a little grain and edge sharpened to bring out as much detail in the structure as possible.

Exposure 1/800sec @ F8.0 and ISO 100, Focal length 20mm

wow it looks like a giant ladybird creeping up on you wearing armanni singlasses, lol
its a good graphic image, im a bit torn if it loses anything in conversion to mono. it looks an exciting place full of colour to me,

I think you mean using a strong red filter Smile
Using a strong blue filter would lighten the sky to white.
Whatever, a very niely composed and processed image.

A fine, beautifully balanced image and a very helpful description.
