Kawai COncerto

By ghibby
A rather different offering from my usual landscape and architectural shots. I took this image of my sister playing the piano during the recent festive season. No formal set up was done, lighting was just the overhead spot lights in the room. I processed this one using the split toning option in Adobe Camera Raw. In Photoshop I used a duplicated layer with overlay blending mode. I applied an luminosity mask and blurred both the mask and overlay layer with a little Gaussian blur to emphasize the tonality of the mid to highlight areas and so express the movement of the had more effectively.

Exposure 1/4s @ F5.6 ISO 800 and 70mm Focal length

Despite the treatment I see a firm, well controlled hand at the keyboard--

mazurka comes to mind!
