Naturally Perched Nuthatch

By Glamrox
Finally I have a nuthatch on a natural perch and not the feeder, so I am really happy!

Taken this lunchtime at the feeder site, despite the rain and high iso I think its worked out alright.

Something I have discovered today is that I have a couple of female pheasants visiting the feeding site, hoovering up the spillage from the other birds. Funniest thing I have seen in a while, pheasant pecking around on the floor then looking up at the nuthatch eating trying to work out when the next spillage would be!

Considering the feeding site was only set up a few weeks ago I am really impressed with the birds its pulling and hope to capture a few more of them now they seem a lot more relaxed with my presence.

Anyhows enough me going on! Comments welcome as usual.

I've not had and of these at my feeders yet, which is strange as they're set up not to far away from woodland.

Nice capture.

If you want to attract these to different places, just stick peanuts on the far side of the tree branch where the nuthatch can see it but the camera can't. Use peanut butter or lard as glue!

They usually find them after a while.
