Ground Hog (Juvenile)

By glazzaro
Good Evening

Well I just got back from Virginia, two days of nothing but back to back meetings! As just as I was heading out of the office to go get in the car a drive back to Delaware I see this juvenile Ground Hog in front of my car, and just when I thought I was not going to get any shots while in Virginia! So I dedicate this shot to Allan Harrison, alias Acharr , who reminds us never to leave home without our camera! Thanks Allan, I remembered to leave mine in the car while in meetings, came in real handy. Please stop by and look at his close up of a month, really excellent detail.

Well it looks like the weekend is shaping up to be real nice again, so Cesie and I plan on going out for some more shots at Bombay Hook, we will be looking for the fox cubs and some early spring deer calves. For those of you already starting your weekend, hope it is clear skies and smooth sailing! Wink

You are just having WAY too much good luck lately! First a den of foxes, and now this right near your car? Maybe you should attend more meetings! Best hedgehog shot I've ever seen.

Hey, it's not a hedgehog, but a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat. Hope you get the pictures you planned to, but then again why wouldn't you? Does your back itch??

Great detail.
I thought of you yesterday morning when I saw three fox cubs playing and generally nosing around. The longest lens I had with me was about 30mm so no pictures I am afraid.

What an amazing shot - I thought groundhogs were mythological beings!!! It looks like a bit like a British hedgehog with a short back and sides... Beautifully presented as usual and thanks for sharing this, Greg. Have a great weekend

Hey Greg, great to see you keeping the camera handy! I notice you've been favouring the D200, a little easier to carry than the D2Xbrick? I read a review that said the D2X was good for everything including fending off muggers!

Really enjoyed the fox pup series, a nice addition to your portfolio!
