Burrowing Owl

By glimpsesborrowed
This little owl is not common in Canada, rare in BC ( we were down to 10 pairs in the mid nineties) and very rare in the Comox Valley where I live and this one was photographed. This is only the third recorded sighting of a burrowing owl in the Comox Valley in the past 60 years And I was fortunate enough to photograph it.

Excellent shot and well spotted indeed. A cracking little bird and I like the surroundings as well.

I had a fantastic holiday in BC and on Vancouver Island last year, need to start planning a return trip I think.
