Nectaring Orangetip

By Glostopcat
A male orangetip butterfly I saw feeding on some flowers at the roadside last Saturday afternoon close to Cleeve Common in Gloucestershire. Many thanks for all your c&c's on my recent uploads, I'll endeavour to catch up with what you've all been up to when time permits. Unfortunately I have very little time to spend on here at present, Ed

Just a little over-exposed Ed, but the real clincher for me is the inclusion of the and on the back of the flower! Whether by design or accident it certainly adds to the impact.....Right I'm off Wink

A gorgeous shot.

I hope you don't mind, but I've had a little play - I don't think I've improved it as such, just changed it a little. I selected the bugs and flower, then desaturated (and blurred) the background. After a crop, re-size and a bit of a sharpen - here it is! Smile

Very lovely close up Ed - these are such beautiful butterflies and I have seen lots of them this year - which is unusual. I am convinced it is because our local council is so hard up they have stopped spraying the weeds - as they all them. Love the extra ant in this one as a little extra - Sue
