Prestbury Hill Blue

By Glostopcat
A male common blue butterfly basking in some early evening sunshine at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham. Unfortunately there is a shadow of a blade of grass across one of the wings which i did not notice until I got home and downloaded it onto my computer. This one was taken on a visit I made on Friday evening after finishing work. I saw a number of common blues, small heaths, large skippers and burnet moths and a couple of small blues, one green hairstreak, one brimstone, one red admiral, one small copper and one dingy skipper whilst I was there, as well as one yellow hammer singing in a tree and a roe doe which I surprised when walking through the area close to the wood that divides the two parts of the reserve.

A beautiful butterfly, the wing colours gorgeous, and so well captured in fine detail: the green showing through the wing you may not have wished for, Ed, but for me it does not distract.

Perfect on the POV score ED, which is where my recent captures failed me, but that was more to do with my dodgy spime than anything else Wink Got a few classics coming up over the next week which should get your attention, keep an eye out for them......Oh and as a early heads up, we might be able to do CH on Thursday.....

What...a stellar...SHOT. I didn't even notice the blade of grass. And now that I have, it is completely inconsequential, Ed.

BRAVO.

That pesky blade of grass is so oof that it does not in any significant way detract from what is an exceptionally good capture, Ed.
What a rich day you had - all those different and varied 'spots'.
