Set Up

By GlynnisFrith
Here follows a sequence of images 5 in total, so if you have time please look they may make you smile.

They are of a couple who were at the war weekend at the NYMR they were in 40’s dress, they set them selves up on the station platform at Pickering reading a newspaper just to see how many photograph’s they could attract.

Tony was the first to see them then he tapped me so I could see what was going on, so we were both taking photos then before you know it photographers were coming out of the woodwork like bees around a honey pot so their ploy worked & seemed to find this amusing.

They are not the best of images but it was hard not to get people walking in front of the camera just posted for the fun value, just to put you in the right mood for the weekend.

Have a good one

Thanks for other comments & click on uploads

Sorry just made the serial longer by adding another image after stevenb said that version 5 would look better cropped so I have done it & agree it looks better thanks Bill

Very enjoyable sequence, Glynnis, has certainly put me in the mood for the weekend. Mind you, Moira will happily remind me that every day is a weekend; but I can live with it....
Wishing you and Tony a good weekend of your own,

I like how you've used the versions to tell the story you've made a good job Glynnis, I prefer V2 because it shows more of the train. I'd copy & paste the lady's shoulder from V1 to hide the lady in white. This I feel would lift the image a lttle higher.
Love the mans expression in V5 Maybe crop just behind the lady back, to lose people with the wrong time period clothing.
Overall a good set.
Congrts on the HC

Congratulations on your first HC.... Considering the number of people there you have done extremely well, I understand from a 'regular' it was the busiest ever 'wartime' weekend....

I must have got something right in class!!!!

Spot on the best of the five in my opinion, had every intention of being there last weekend but failed.
