Pine weevil

Taken on the same jaunt around Glen Trool, Galloway Forest, as Assyrian and FeePhoto (and Mrs Assyrian-she's into the dark art of...FILM!! so no uploads...yet!)

Thanks to Hugh for a loan of the lens.

This little guy was just dawdling along doing his thing. Apparently they are quite destructive!

No wonder you didn't want to give up the lens! I guess you didn't have a great deal of choice on composition, but you've framed the shot really well - like it a lot.

If it's the same as we over in the US refer to as the pine bark beetle, then yes, they are terrors on the trees. We lost two large pines to them. Grrr
But you did take a very good photo of one! Wink
