Red Deer Stag

I used a long lens of course but did not get as close as this appears !!! This is quite a considerable crop on the original but I like to think its a good testament to the quality of Nikon gear that its has held excellent detail. He has got a really superb stand of Antlers. Cropping-levels and minimum sharpening is about it. I was amused at the way it came up as it clearly shows how these guys manage to make so much noise at this time of the year- hence the title alsoGrin
My very grateful thanks, as always, for the tremendous response to the Red Squirrel. You are very generous.

Blimey that is a big mouth.

There have been several shots on EPZ showing stags with their mouth open and roaring. This is, IMO, the best of them.

The full frame sensor no doubt helps to contribute to the detail the lens can pick up, and the other great advantage of the 700 is that you can really push up the ISO level with minimal noise.
But still a remarkable image, Ron.
