Newly Emerged

By Glostopcat
When visiting Swindon for work a couple of days ago, I was very close to Coate Water Park so I decided to pay a brief visit at lunchtime. This is what I think is a recently emerged four spot chaser that I saw drying out its wings at the edge of one of the lakes. I saw several other dragonflies that had recently hatched as well as a number of damselflies during my short time there.

Caught against abstract lines - this is a superb composition as well as being a fine macro study.

Hello friend, this is an excellent shot but for me the background is very disturbing. Nevertheless it is a nice shot, nice view through the wings, pin sharp image..

Just the detail in those golden accent wings and the mist makes this a winner. TG

Excellent capture Ed, the background is busy but I do not mind this as it is defocused and natural, nice one.
