Plastic Fields

I was away camping at the weekend and came across this very strange field, I think they were growing maize. The machine they had used to plant the maize must also have laid a layer of plastic to protect it (from frost and pests?). Anyway the effect was most disconcerting and the wave in the land made me feel quite giddy...

A photo naturally had to be taken...

Scrolling this one up and down is deeply disturbing! Great abstract image, rather 1960s in style.

This is a veritable 'Bridget Riley' optical effect. Fascinating! I always think these kinds of fields have great photo possibilities.
