Would love to see this as large as an Opdahl canvas! The shoreline images are always among my favourites Smile

    Hello Piotr,

you have a real talent for portraits. It is evident that you build a strong connection with your subjects. I like many of your images, but have chosen this one to comment on as it really appealed.

  • Towards Skiddaw

flicks of light through the grasses, delicious layers of light and dark, a 'this world' scene suffused with something 'other'. You are a wizard, Alan, and have cast your spell over an already magical landscape.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments.

Hello Alan, your assessment of the focus shift is spot on. I could claim it was deliberate but 'nah - it's a fair cop, Guv!'

While I took the stone exposure parallel, the plant exposure was shifted to the side and that has introduced the softening you have noticed. I had noticed the focus softening too, but hadn't quite worked it out. Thanks, I can now go back and see if I can improve on it . Smile

The focus through grass gives this a 'double exposure' effect - lovely lighting Smile Jacqui

Beautiful flowers, taken to another level.

The colour is perfect and vibrant, absolutely the main subject, as intended. Still, the greys and background shadows lure my eye, ensuring I take in the whole. The greys are the key to the image, the flowers are the unlocked treasure. Smile

  • Hello Dawn, thank you for voting on the Kelpies image. Your vote prompted me to have a look at your portfolio and I feel like I have found a kindred spirit! I love the subjects and the treatments you have used. Have placed a few votes but actually would vote for them all! I'm just warming up after a long break from photography and from ephotozine and seeing your portfolio has rekindled some sparks, thank you!, regards, Jacqui Smile

  • Impressive portfolio, Matt. I really love the colours from Morrocco, the people images are really good and you've been to Cuba (now, I'm not usually a jealous type, but that has left me with a slight green tinge Grin). You have a talent! Jacqui Smile
