sandstone flower

By Griff2012
An experiment with the camera's multiple exposure feature. I tried building the image two ways - V1 comes from taking the flower first and then the stone. I reversed the order for V2.

This has only been cropped and a tiny nudge on exposure before uploading - otherwise it comes straight from the camera.

I can see hours of experimenting ahead… Smile

I really like this, Jacqui. V1 is interesting, but for me the idea really comes alive in V2... I have more of a sense of the flower emerging from the stone. It's almost as though at that point the stone had become the flower, metamorphosed into it.
Good stuff... looking forward to further experiments!

Thank you IB, Billy and Alan.

Yes, Alan, I enjoyed the fusion in V2. Where does the flower end and the stone begin? Is this fossil coming to life or flower becoming fossil? V1 feels more like an art project, V2 a philosophical project Grin Jacqui

Lots of good images to be seen in algae and fungi.
These are very good.

On a scale of 'unusual-ness', these two score a 10, Jacqui.
Multiple exposures on a camera, merging two subjects together, the imagination could run wild here...!

Quote: the imagination could run wild here...!

oh yes, I could be in danger of melting the camera with overuse in trying all the ideas I've already entertained … Grin
It's possible to change lenses between shots so the permutations become infinite - I love this feature! Jacqui

Cameras are giving us more options all the time. Love V2.
