Wanted to give low key portraits a go for the first and instead of using a model I did a very rare self portrait.

Looking for some C&C.

Thanks for looking

great low-key portrait. And my honest opinion is, I would like to see a little bit rim light of your coat/long sleeve (left or right side) connecting from your shoulder up to your hands for a stronger impact.

I like it - I like the fact that it is only the face & hands showing. Like the pose with the hans clenched and just a touch of colour in the fact you have a part of your tee shirt showing.A very moody pose - almost in 'forgiveness'?' Great for a 1st attempt.

Thanks for the comments and ideas. I'll have another go at some low key stuff at the weekend. Really enjoying playing with different ways of lighting.

The light on the face is good with just enough to bring out the eyes.
However for me the hand are disconnected from the rest of the image you either need to crop them or just add a bit more light next time to fill the body area so some details are visible to link the hand and face.
Good first attempt.
Regards Richard.
