Brother Arnold Hadd

By handlerstudio
Yesterday's uploads were going to be the end of our Maine trip, though on request, I am loading here a number of images form the Village, many of them inside, shot without flash by necessity, and in some cases in fairly low light spaces, so the ISO is pretty high.

Brother Arnold is the Elder of the Shaker Village at Sabbathday Lake, and now my friend. He became a Shaker around the age of 21. A very likable man, warm and with a dry, somewhat acidic wit. And not at all withdrawn from the world.

Such an interesting set this, thanx Peter !! I just love the simplicity and uncluttered look of their lifestyle. Will give my wife the recipe from 1902 !! I could become a Shaker just to have apple pie every morning Smile

Yeah Herman, much is appealing but for one small detail, not to beg the obvious...........

Looks a wonderful way of life Peter, but not for me I am afraid, your photos give a great insight to this way of life, like them all.

Trev.

Not for me either. Among other things, celibacy. Among other things..........
