Wind Generators

By handlerstudio
There are three large wind towers on Vinalhaven, apparently the subject of some controversy (what we call here, NIMBY--not in my backyard). There is a power cable under the ocean that brings electricity from the mainland out, and it is expensive. I am told that these three generators can mostly power the island.

I will show a few more views from a different perspective of them tomorrow.

Great reflections.............. The NIMY's would also be the first to complain if they had no power at all.

Unusual and a very clever take on these windmills-- Usually I like them and what they can do! They have on in RI that over produces so I am told!

We have wind turbines, and we have NIMBYs as well.

Personally, I find them stately and rather beautiful, and woudn't mind living near a wind farm. Rather better, in jsut about every way, then being 2 miles from one of the busiest roads in Western Europe...
