Antique Cars #21

By handlerstudio

Thanks to everyone for your kind words for my daughter and grand daughter, EmmaJune. They are all doing well....Liam's trope is still "My Baby", so far a stellar big brother.

With deference to Dora's wonderful Bug photo a few days ago...her processing was beyond me.....I believe this one seen on the street a few years ago (actually during the Obama administration) is the same model year, 1967, which arguably is from a mechanical and aesthetic perspective, the best Bug. They switched to those ugly straight bumpers in 1968. And, looking inside the car...clearly this one has been lovingly tricked out.

This series has seemed to bring up a lot of nostalgia for many EPZ members....I can think of no car with more power to do that. And maybe the car in which many of us learned to drive a stick shift.

Listening right now to the debate in the House as to asking the VP to initiate the 25th Amendment to remove the President. He would need X number of cabinet members to support this...there may not be enough left...quite a few have quit, with days left, in protest. Even they have scruples....finally.

It looks a beauty, Peter.

As for Trump, he has a cult following. They would all drink poison kool aid if he asked them to ... Now, there's an idea!

As far as know, they voted in favour. Im surprised theyre continuing as it might affect Bidens timetable. But happy anyway!

This was my first car, a green beetle.

A real classic car. After ww2 the German government offered the VW Beetle to the British Government as a war reparation. The British said no thanks as they claimed the car would never sell!!!

I'll be honest, and say that while Beetles have cult appeal, for me it was utterly outclassed in every way when the Morris minor arrived... Not sold as worldwide, but quieter, roomier, and with far better road manners.

But it's seen as a car for maiden aunts and English district nurses.

Beautiful to look at, but I'll opt out of travelling in one, those VWs...

Fingers crossed over 45.

I just love the 'metal eye lashes' on the lights Peter. Super well looked after car and a good set of images.

I agree with Dudler over the Morris Minor. It was my first car but had so much plastic filler to repair the rusted bodywork that the negative pole of the battery didn't earth properly so I had to get a piece of copper wire, put a crocodile clip on either end and strech it under the car to clip onto somewhere where the chassis was actually metal. Well pre MOT of course.
This is a handsome car however and you didn't have to lift your leg right in in one go.

I drove a '72 "Bug" for a couple of years, and enjoyed it tremendously.
It wasn't the best at anything, but was a great car.

Beautiful set, wonderfully taken.
Good news, EmmaJune and her mother are both well,.. I believe you are as well, Peter.
Keep well.
Down to the politics, I would think that Trump, as all the dictators, he couldn't achieve anything without his supporters, so this is a "delicate" situation.

Another fine looking car, I love the shape and they just seem to go forever. Never owned one but always wanted one. Drove a Lada for many years.

Good news about the little chap being the big brother, long may it last.

Love and light

We should be so lucky. I have heard a story on NPR that compared him with Jim Jones.
