shots like this are always a little tricky due to the habitat of the lizard. The leaf litter can be quite distracting and I think the use of layers in your imaging software might work well here.
Try turning the background into black and white or tone it down considerably, then bring up the saturation of the lizard. also try using the burn tool on the shadows of the lizard at about 8% opacity. hope this of some help. Regards - Ralph
