Star Trails

My first attempt at star trails.... hope to do better next time Smile Need some advice for improving

F5.6, ISO 100, BULB for 20 minutes

The ISO is about right, how about a tighter aperture, like f11 or 16, or maybe higher? Would make the sky darker, making more points of light more prominent, there are lots of stars there but a darker sky might accentuate them. Not tried a 14 minute long exposure on the sky before, usually 30 seconds and concentrating on the milky way, but now i have a remote release im looking to do some longer exposures if we clear nights here soon, id be tempted to use a small aperture it really does make the sky stay dark.

This is a neat image though, i actually like the light in the sky, and those colours close to the horizon, adds a bit more interest and mystique to it, nice work Smile
