2nd Published Photo

By GlynnisFrith
I would like to share my excitement with you, I have had another photo published in the Steam Railway Annual Review 2008 magazine.

I am feeling very privileged to have a photo included amongst all the great steam railway photographers who have some wonderful images not least (Robin Coombes) an EPZ member which I have to thank for giving me lots of advise on steam photography.

Also thanks Andy (hailwood) another EPZ member for getting us to that location to be able to take this shot.

There are 3 version

V1 is the original image

V2 is the scanned image from the magazine

V3 is a scanned image of the editorial which was in front of the mag to which it mentioned cameramen (and women).

I think I must be in the minority amongst women who gets a real buzz out of steam locomotives.

Thanks for your support & for dropping by

Go large if you have time

Yes Andy was taken a while ago now & I still remember the sound of her pulling away from the station, would not have thought that is was her last run.

You are both excellent photographers, and both your published pics were worthy to be so. It is always nice to get your work published, even had a few myself. The editors of these steam news mags are not the judge though, of wether a pic is good or bad. As long as you are happy with it thats all what maters.

I agree with Alan all we have to do is enjoy what we take & it's bonus if others like it

All I can add is my very heartfelt congratulation to you (both) and thanks for the mention if I have helped it makes be humble and proud as I still regard myself as a novice at being a photographer as opposed to a lifelong steam enthusiast. The sheer joy and pleasure of getting your work published never goes away and I disagree with one comment Editors of mags particularly for an Annual review do have a good eye and it has to pass two tests of being both newsworthy and a good photo.

You can just feel proud and a toast to the new "Queen of Steam"
