half term

By havecamerawilltravel
That classic week, Half Term! What to do with Small People for 8 hours or more, for 5 days or 9 days. We had her little brother in town for the week, so, we got up early, and headed to Copt point in Folkestone, second only to Warren point in Kent for Fossiling. The soft mud, not only is dense with what appear to be black stones, but every little man's classic Amonyte, and not to forget coating himself in aforementioned mud, beating the tide back to the shore in good time.

Big bag of fossil of different shapes and sizes, duly hauled back in the ubiquitous Tesco carrier bag and set to with, warm, water and a toothbrush. Something to show his classmates when he gets back home!

as for the photo: I am kind of happy with the tones. The slice of movement on the 'brush, I am happy with, but it's more the tones and finding an appropriate shade to best bring the right parts out with.

Hope everyone's well, and busy!

I remember happy days doing the same in Dorset. I lent my collection of ammonites to a Geography teacher and never saw them again...
Nice sense of controlled messiness and great concentration.
