Splendid Isolation

By marktc
Similar to This Morning , I had this mono in mind when I took this shot.

The added bonus for me was the way that the sunrise breaking through the clouds looks like a breaking wave on the horizon.

This is the last of the uploads from Sand Banks... Thank you for all your support on this series, its been fun!

A huge thank you to Alan for his "Alfred", I know they are very hard to come by!!!

I like the idea, and the minimalism, and it's an interesting alternative to the colour of the earlier image.
However, I downloaded it for a bit of experimenting, and I think it works better with the tonal range heavily adjusted in Levels. As it stands, it looks tonally rather flat to me.
But I suppose that's how you wanted it to look, so it's just a personal opinion.

Great comp here, Mark but tend to agree with Alan and Jeremy about the tonal range.

The epitome of negative space.
If I were considering buying an image to hang on my wall,
personally I'd want more to look at.

The slight glow at the horizon make the image here Mark.
