Kingfisher resting

By Hawkgenes
This is my first Kingfisher taken yesterday at the Harrogate naturalists site in Farnham. Well, its a low resolution picture and I'll be back soon to try to get a closer shot. This was taken at about 30yards and they are very small. I was pleased with the focus at such a distance and this was due to using spot metering. This is a male bird, the female has an orange stripe on the underside of the beak.
