Really jumped out at me, wondered if just read nails on a book would work as well, and agree with greater DOF - but thought the picture worked well.

Very clever use of selective coloring. I guess I too would like to see the left and right fingers in sharper focus (I'm nitpicking now.) -=Walter

Great portfolio overall and particularly this shot. Focus is bang on the middle finger which is the central point in the image. Compliments to your daughter too on her creativity!
